WHO WE ARE

Delvon Assistance for Social Harmony (DASH) is the leading, most experienced and well-established of the two non-governmental humanitarian demining organization available in Sri Lanka, assisting the Government's rehabilitation and reconciliation efforts for the Northern Province.

DASH embarked on mine action in Sri Lanka as an independent organization in 2010 with the funding assistance of the Government of Australia and Japan. At present our operations are exclusively funded by the Governments of the United States and Japan.

We consider it a great privilege and honor to have received the funding assistance of Japan, Australia and the United States. We are very grateful to the governments and people of these countries for the invaluable assistance extended to Sri Lanka and the confidence placed in DASH for facilitating their generous assistance provided to our country for mine action.

Among all their friendly donor countries the United States remains a leading supporter for mine action in Sri Lanka. The United States is very special to DASH as the substantial part of their operations being funded by her since 2013.

Our operations that were initially confined to the Kilinochchi District expanded to include the Mullaitivu and Vavuniya Districts respectively in 2012 and 2014. The present operational strength of DASH is 11 manual demining teams (MDTs); each comprising of 31 personnel, and 02 Survey Teams. In the initial stages of operations DASH used Rake Excavation and Detection System (REDS) for clearance. DASH now has 217 numbers of F3 Minelab Metal Detectors produced by Australia deployed in its operations.

DASH possesses the necessary expertise and experience to carryout mine action activities including Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Improvised Explosive Devices Disposal (IEDD) and also Mechanical Clearance. Its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comply with both the Sri Lanka National Mine Action Standards (SLNMAS) and International Mine Action Standards (IMAS).
