Blackpool Coffee has evolved from a local coffee grower and roaster into an international supplier. Our journey began with tourists visiting our coffee bungalow, leading to mail orders that expanded our reach. During the COVID-19 pandemic, word-of-mouth propelled our international growth, resulting in a loyal clientele. Notably, “Oliver’s Recipe,” produced at just 50kg annually, now has a nine-month waiting list, with the 2023 crop available for roasting towards the end of March. In the meantime, we offer “Bakers Tribute” and “Barnes Special,” unique blends ready for immediate dispatch. We invite you to experience the richness and freshness of our beans, roasted to your preferences and delivered to your door.

Our Vision
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
Asitha’s grandfather Oliver first grew coffee in the garden of his house (today, the Blackpool Coffee Bungalow) after independence, ignoring local naysayers who reminded him that coffee had not been grown at this altitude in Sri Lanka, and its time as a commercial crop was passed following the blight hitting Ceylonese coffee production before WWI. To this day we remain the highest altitude coffee growers in Sri Lanka, producing coffee to Oliver’s recipe.
Oliver nurtured in Asitha the same love of coffee, and after following a different career, and 7 years research into coffee growing in the 21st Century, He returned to the house, intent on reviving commercial production. As word spread amongst our neighbours and friends a local market developed that now stretches across the hill country. We have since grown, shipping our coffee internationally, an expansion driven by mail-ordering fresh coffee to people who had visited us as tourists. Local coffee growers began asking to produce coffee for us to sell for them, and it is from their beans that we produce the distinct Bakers Tribute, and Barnes Special.
We now have a recognizably loyal number of overseas clients, and we now have a waiting list of 9 months for Olivers Recipe beans with 2023’s crop available for roasting towards the end of March. In the meantime, we have our Bakers Tribute, and Barnes Special, unique in themselves, ready to roast for you to fulfil your order for immediate despatch.
We hope that you will try our coffee and join an ever-growing number of people who come back to us to buy our coffee for the richness of its flavours and the freshness of the beans, roasted to your requirements and delivered to your door.
We have grown from being a coffee grower and roaster supplying our local market to one shipping our coffee internationally. This expansion followed on from mail ordering coffee as it became available, to customers who had first found us as tourists who had visited us at our coffee bungalow.
It was during covid that our international market grew by word-of-mouth, which has resulted in that short space of time with building a recognizably loyal number of clients like yourself, so that Oliver’s Recipe, for which we process just 50kg of beans annually, now has a waiting list of 9 months to be fulfilled with 2023’s crop available for roasting towards the end of March. In the meantime, we have our Bakers Tribute, and Barnes Special, unique in themselves, ready to roast for you to fulfil your order for immediate despatch.
We hope that you will try our coffee, and join an ever-growing number of people who come back to us to buy our coffee for the richness of its flavours and the freshness of the beans, roasted to your requirements and delivered to your door.
